Listing Agent

Full-timeBrooklyn, NYSales

Own the seller side: pricing, staging, launch, negotiation. You're the strategist behind every listing the team takes on.

Compensation

Commission-based with performance tiers. Our listing agents typically earn $120K-$250K+ annually at full production.

About this range. The figures above are the range we genuinely believe we can pay for this role as of the date this posting was published, not a best case. Where compensation is commission-based, actual earnings depend on your own production and we cannot guarantee a figure. Nothing here is a guarantee of profit.

About This Role

Listing representation is the prestige end of real estate, and at The Finelli Team it's also where the most strategic work happens. You'll work directly with sellers from the first consultation through closing — advising on pricing, preparing the home for market, coordinating photography and staging, and negotiating on your client's behalf.

We don't take listings to pad our count. Every property we represent is priced correctly, marketed aggressively, and negotiated skillfully. That means you need to be fluent in market data, comfortable having difficult conversations about pricing strategy, and confident enough to hold firm when an offer isn't right.

Our listing agents close $3M-$8M+ in annual volume. The team supports you with marketing, transaction coordination, and a referral pipeline that's been building for years — but the relationship with the seller is yours.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct listing consultations and advise sellers on pricing strategy using market data and comps
  • Coordinate property preparation — staging, photography, videography, and listing content
  • Launch and market listings across MLS, Compass platforms, social media, and the team's website
  • Negotiate offers on behalf of sellers, managing multiple-offer situations when they arise
  • Manage the transaction from signed listing agreement through closing, coordinating with attorneys and title companies
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective sellers through referrals, networking, and personal outreach
  • Represent The Finelli Team at broker opens, industry events, and community functions

Requirements

  • Active New York real estate license with proven listing or buyer's agent experience
  • Deep understanding of Brooklyn and Manhattan markets — pricing trends, neighborhood dynamics, buyer behavior
  • Strong negotiation skills and the confidence to advise sellers on difficult pricing decisions
  • Professional presentation and the ability to build trust quickly with high-net-worth clients

Nice to Have

  • Annual production volume of $2M+ in closed transactions
  • Experience with Compass tools, including Listing Management and Seller Dashboard
  • Existing network of homeowners, attorneys, or referral sources in Brooklyn
  • Photography or staging knowledge that helps you guide sellers through preparation

Under the New York City Human Rights Law, this right applies to independent contractors and interns as well as employees, and it applies during recruitment rather than only on the job. Applying is not a commitment

Job scams: what we will never ask you to do

Recruitment scams are common, and real estate is a common setting for them. To be clear about what a legitimate conversation with us looks like:

  • We will never ask you for money to apply, for a licence, for a training fee, or for equipment.
  • We will never send you a cheque to deposit and ask you to send back the difference.
  • All correspondence comes from a @compass.com address. We will not approach you on social media, and we will not ask you to move to a personal email, text, or messaging app.
  • Your licence application and any associated fees go through the New York State Department of State, never through us. You keep control of your own licence.
  • We will never ask for your bank details, your licence number, or your National Insurance number by email before we have spoken.

If anyone claiming to represent this team asks for money, your licence, or your identity documents, stop and contact us on finelliteam@compass.com using the number on our own website — not any number supplied in the message. You can also report job scams at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. Licence concerns go to the NYS Department of State.

What happens to your application

We use what you send to assess your application for the Listing Agent role and to contact you about it. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for anything else. Read the Privacy Policy. Please do not include a Social Security number, bank details, or a copy of your licence in an application — we do not need them at this stage, and if we ever do we will ask for them separately and explain why.
