Independent contractor status
Real estate salespersons affiliated with The Finelli Team are independent contractors associated with Compass, a licensed New York real estate broker — not employees. A valid New York State Real Estate License is required, and you keep control of your own license and application. Contractors are paid by commission as described above and are responsible for their own taxes; where a draw or other advance is provided it is documented in writing, and contractors are issued a 1099.

What we assess
We assess licence status, relevant experience, production history, and how you work. We do not ask about, and will not consider, your race, colour, religion, creed, national origin, citizenship or immigration status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, sex, age, disability, marital or familial status, military status, lawful source of income, height, weight, or criminal record. Where a role requires you to demonstrate an ability to meet the financial terms of a transaction, we ask only for the financial information that role genuinely needs, and only after you have asked us to.

- Your licence application and any associated fees go through the New York State Department of State, never through us. You keep control of your own licence.
- We will never ask for your bank details, your licence number, or your National Insurance number by email before we have spoken.

What happens to your application
We use what you send to assess your application and to contact you about it. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for anything else. Read the Privacy Policy. Please do not include a Social Security number, bank details, or a copy of your licence in an application — we do not need them at this stage, and if we ever do we will ask for them separately and explain why.
